Dementia Friendly Chesterfield group to hold Memory Market Place at the home of the Spirerites

The Dementia Friendly Chesterfield Group would like to invite you to a Memory Market Place event on Wednesday 1st May at Chesterfield football club from 11am till 2pmThis is a drop-in event for people living with dementia their friends and family and anyone who would like to know more about dementia. It is a great opportunity to seek advice and get help.

On the 1st of May the Dementia Friendly Chesterfield group are holding a free event at Chesterfield football club. The event will gather together many local organisations that support people living with dementia and their families.

Wendy Blunt from Chesterfield Borough Council, who started the Dementia Friendly Chesterfield action group, said 'The idea of the Memory Market is to help raise awareness of the support that is available for people in Chesterfield '

If you are living with dementia or would just like to know more then please come along. People can call in for a few minutes or stay for the whole event. The event is free and open to all. There will be opportunities to visit stalls, meet and talk in a relaxed environment about all the elements of living with dementia. You can get advice or just find out what's available.

There will be activities and a free buffet lunch on the day.

it's a unique opportunity to make contact with so many different organisations.

It's also a great opportunity for people who work or volunteer in roles that help to support people to live well with dementia. It's a place to meet with others and share ideas.

The event is from 11am till 2pm and parking is free.
